Homework
Nightly Reading
It is expected that students read 20 minutes nightly . This nightly reading should be from his/her AR book.
*This is the most important assignment I assign. Just as in sports, dance, or any other area - practice makes perfect.
Try to switch up your child's reading routine - let them read to you, to themselves, in bed, outside, wherever they most enjoy reading.

Math
It is expected that your child practice his/her math facts for 5-10 minutes each night. This is the single most important activity you can do at home to support your child's math learning at home. Information for XtraMath will be sent home but flashcards are also a great option.
Spelling/Phonics
A weekly spelling list will come home each Monday and should be studied throughout the week. Each list will focus on specific spelling rules and patterns and be differentiated to meet your child's needs. A spelling test will be given each Friday.
